Still a very new addition to the cross-country race weekend, the third Cross-Country Short Track race (XCC) of the season took a new shape at Val di Sole's World Cup round in Italy. The 1km course boasted more elevation and technical sections than previous tracks, and the lack of asphalt or any areas to regroup and recover meant that tactics would have to change for this race. A steep, short climb right out of the start and a technical descent near the end of the track kept riders on their toes throughout.
