This French film-serial was actually written and directed by Russian-born Alexandre Volkoff and was a critical and financial success upon release. It is a mystery series in which a man is betrayed by his friend and sent to prison for a murder he did not commit. While in prison, his betrayer makes moves to steal his wife as well. Modern viewers marvel at the scope and grandiosity of the picture, while praising the acting as well. An English subtitle track is included with the downloaded serial.
